Heart Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ingredients: ½ c. margarine, ½ c. sugar, ¼ c. b sugar, 1 egg, ¾ teaspoon vanilla, 1 ½ c. flour, ¼ teaspoon bk. soda, ¼ teaspoon salt, ½ c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions: Mix together ingredients then make dough into a heart shape on a large greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes. Let cool on pan for a few minutes then place on cookie rack.
*Write a note to your wife or your wife’s name on the heart cookie with melted chocolate chips. Place chocolate chips in a plastic baggie (it needs to be straight on the bottom- usually an off-brand that doesn’t zip-lock). Microwave 30 seconds at a time. Squish the bag after every 30 seconds until the chips are melted. Cut a small corner in the baggie and write on the cookie by squeezing the chocolate out of the cut-off corner.

Bouquet of Flowers

Go to a nearby florist and order a bouquet of flowers. (Most women like several kinds of flowers, not just roses. Roses are great but here are some other suggestions; daisies, lilies, tulips, orchids, star lilies, yellow daffodils, and bright colored gerbera daisies.

In order to cut the cost a bit but still give a breathtaking bouquet, here are some suggestions.

Order the flowers but go purchase the vase. (Buy the vase at a discount retailer, they have different things every time you go but their goods are usually high quality.)

Purchase a bouquet from a grocery store and buy a vase for the flowers. If you would like to create a large bouquet, buy two or three bouquets at the store. Arrange flowers in vase.

Many women love gardening, if so, maybe getting her some flower bulbs or rose bushes to plant in her garden are good alternatives to purchasing a bouquet.

Homemade Coupon Ideas

Make these by cutting paper and writing the coupon message or make on your computer. Put all the coupons together to create a coupon book for your wife. The following are some suggestions.

1 hr of peace and quiet (Dad takes the children)
1 Night on the Town – Mom’s pick of where to go, the stars are the limit!
½ hr back massage – Anytime
1 Dad takes care of dinner - it may be take-out, but it still is a break!

*You know your wife, so be creative with coupon ideas and make some that you know she’ll love and appreciate.

Bed & Breakfast Combo

Make your wife’s favorite breakfast! Bring it to her in bed the morning of Mother’s Day. Place the breakfast on a bed tray and put a vase with a single flower on the tray as well – this is an extra special touch.

Getaway

A great gift you could give your wife to show her how much you appreciate her being Mom and Wife is to give her a break. A weekend getaway is just what the doctor ordered for hectic mom.

Choose someplace nearby but you’ll know she’ll enjoy. Don’t plan too many activities, remember this getaway is supposed to be relaxing. A nearby Bed N’ Breakfast is always a good idea.

Thank You Note

Write your wife a note that tells her how much you appreciate and love her. This note will mean more to her than anything that money can buy. (A flower with the letter adds a special touch.)

Jewelry

Give your wife a necklace, ring, or bracelet that has the birthstones of all your family members.

Or give her a piece of jewelry that has a thoughtful message from you engraved in it. A simple “I love you” or something between you and her are great ideas.
